June 27, 2018 - "THE KINGDOM HAS COME!"

“The kingdom of heaven is like electricity.
You don't see it. It is within you.”
― Maharishi Mahesh Yogi

"Your kingdom come. Your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven." Matthew 6:10

"Your life is hid with Christ in God, and the way into the kingdom is assured you. This is not fanciful sketch, nor does it refer to a theoretical place or condition to be reached in some future state or under circumstances more propitious. This kingdom of God is now existing right here in our midst. It is being externalized little by little.” Charles Fillmore, Jesus Christ Heals 114-115

"You own two shops, and you run back and forth. Try to close the one that's a fearful trap, getting always smaller. Checkmate, this way. Checkmate that. Keep open the shop where you're not selling fishhooks anymore. You are the free-swimming fish." The Essential Rumi, Coleman Barks 75

"The future is what we make it. But we are learning that we are developing God-given faculties and powers, coming into consciousness of sonship. So after all the future is in God's hands, and it will reveal in our life the state that Jesus called the kingdom of God or the kingdom of the heavens. The order of the universe established in man's daily life!" Myrtle Fillmore, Healing Letters 180

"The Atman (God self: Christ) does not love, it is love itself. It does not exist, it is existence itself." How to Know God - The Yoga Aphorisms of Patanjali 129

"Create your reign of unity now!... Your one desire then acts with ours, as in all light, so in all forms." (Matthew 6:10) Neil Douglas Klotz, Prayers Of The Cosmos 19, 22

"The Lord has established his throne in the heavens, and his kingdom rules over all." Psalms 103:19

The Lord's Prayer, Matthew 6:9-13, is a model for affirmative prayer. He did not say "Pray this Prayer." He did say "Pray like this," Matthew 6:9, with much emphasis upon entering into the "Secret Place." Effective prayer is a personal experience of communion with the greater reality, the infinite presence and power that we call God.

This month we begin eight weeks of meditation and contemplation upon the elements of the Prayer and our relationship with the Almighty. Expanding our Life of Prayer, we grow beyond our dependence upon outer things and realize an infinite sufficiency from within.

Please affirm with us: “God is; I am; We are; One!

Thank you God, thank you God, thank you God!

For so it is and so it shall be, Amen!

June 20, 2018 - "OUR FATHER!'

“Every man is a divinity in disguise,
a god playing the fool.”
― Ralph Waldo Emerson

"Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name." Matthew 6:9b

"The truth that God is the Father of man does away with the oft proclaimed presumption that it is impossible for the finite to understand the Infinite... God is in the universe as its constant breath or inspiration; hence it is only necessary to find the point of contact in order to understand the One in whom we all 'live, and move, and have our being.'” Charles Fillmore, Christian Healing 8

"You are so weak. Give up to grace. The ocean takes care of each wave till it gets to shore. You need more help than you know. You're trying to live your life in open scaffolding. Say Bismillah, In the name of God, as the priest does with a knife when he offers an animal. Bismillah your old self to find your real name." The Essential Rumi, Coleman Barks 70

"God's love for us, for all His children, is so great that He sent Jesus Christ to be the Way-Shower to lead us to a greater realization of our heavenly Father's love and will for us." Myrtle Fillmore, Healing Letters 28

"When we become united with Brahman (Cosmic Soul: God,) we are united with That which was manifested in Christ and hidden within our unregenerate selves, but which is eternally present in all of us. And this union is the state of nirvikalpa samadhi (absorption into the infinite: Nirvana: Heaven.)" How to Know God - The Yoga Aphorisms of Patanjali 92

"This simple statement (Our Father) in itself constitutes a definite and complete system of theology. It fixes clearly and distinctly the nature and character of God. It sums up the Truth of Being. It tells all that man need to know about God, and about himself, and about his neighbor." Emmet Fox, The Sermon on the Mount 150

"He (David) shall cry to me, 'You are my Father, my God, and the Rock of my salvation!'" Psalms 89:26

June 13, 2018 - "PRAY LIKE THIS!"

“Prayer does not change God,
but it changes him who prays.”
― Soren Kierkegaard

"‘Pray then in this way:" Matthew 6:9a

"The Lord's Prayer was given as a sample: not to be followed literally. It is a petition according to the American revision; but according to Fenton's translation it is a series of affirmations.” Charles Fillmore, Teach Us To Pray 5

"We are lutes, no more, no less. If the soundbox is stuffed full of anything, no music. If the brain and the belly are burning clean with fasting, every moment a new song comes out of the fire." The Essential Rumi, Coleman Barks 69

"Prayer is an exercise to change our own thought habits and our living habits, that we may set up a new and better activity, in accord with the divine law rather than with the suggestions we have received from various sources." Myrtle Fillmore, Healing Letters 33

"There is a continuous consciousness of the unity of Atman (Individual Soul: Christ within) and Brahman (Cosmic Soul: God). There is no longer any identification of the the Atman with its coverings. All sense of duality is obliterated. There is pure, unified consciousness. The man who is well established in this consciousness is said to be illumined." How to Know God - The Yoga Aphorisms of Patanjali 93

"The Lord's Prayer is God-centered, and in it Jesus teaches us how to become absorbed in the consciousness of God and find eternal joy and freedom." Swami Prabhavananda, The Sermon on the Mount according to Vedanta 85

"To you, O Lord, I lift up my soul." Psalms 25:1

The Lord's Prayer, Matthew 6:9-13, is a model for affirmative prayer. He did not say "Pray this Prayer." He did say "Pray like this," Matthew 6:9, with much emphasis upon entering into the "Secret Place." Effective prayer is a personal experience of communion with the greater reality, the infinite presence and power that we call God.

June 6, 2018 - "PRAYER IS LIFE!"

“In prayer it is better to have a heart without words
than words without a heart. ”
― Mahatma Gandhi

"When you are praying, do not heap up empty phrases as the Gentiles do; for they think that they will be heard because of their many words. Do not be like them, for your Father knows what you need before you ask him." Matthew 6:7-8

"All down the ages man has been making the spiritual effort to realize conscious union with that innermost center where Truth in all its glory abides eternally. Actually, prayer is man's steady effort to know God.” Charles Fillmore, Dynamics for Living 93

"Just because you can't drink all that falls doesn't mean you give up taking sips of rainwater. If the nut of the mystery can't be held, at least let me touch the shell." The Essential Rumi, Coleman Barks 65

"Prayer, then, is to change mind and heart so that God's omnipresent good may fill our mind and heart and manifest in our life." Myrtle Fillmore, Healing Letters 34

"For behind Christ, behind Ramakrishna, behind any conception of a personal God, there is Brahman, the Ground, the central Reality of which these figures are only partial, individual projections. When we become united with Brahman,we are united with That which was manifested in Christ and hidden within our unregenerated selves, but which is eternally present in all of us." How to Know God - The Yoga Aphorisms of Patanjali 92

"Prayer is not something we do to God but to ourselves. It is not a position but a disposition. It is not flattery but a sense of oneness. It is not asking but knowing. It is not words but feeling. It is not will but willingness." Eric Butterworth, Discover the Power Within You 106

"Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable to you, O Lord, my rock and my redeemer." Psalms 19:14

May 30, 2018 - "BEING SIMPLE!"

“In thinking,
keep to the simple.”
― Lao Tzu

"But when you fast, put oil on your head and wash your face, so that your fasting may be seen not by others but by your Father who is in secret; and your Father who sees in secret will reward you." -Matthew 6:17-18

"The soul wearies of the wear and tear of the artificial world. There is a great difference between the simple life and lack... The simple life is a state of consciousness. It is peace, contentment, and satisfaction in the joy of living and loving. It is attained through thinking about God and worshipping Him in spirit and in truth.” Charles Fillmore, Dynamics for Living 223

"Someone who goes with half a loaf of bread to a small place that fits like a nest around him, someone who wants no more, who's not himself longed for by anyone else, He is a letter to everyone. You open it. It says Live." The Essential Rumi, Coleman Barks 62

"The inner chamber is that quiet place within the heart. We are taught to center our thoughts within, and then to shut the door; that is, to close our mind to all other thinking and think about God and His goodness and wonderful love; to pray to God in secret, in 'the secret place of the Most High,' and all things needful will be added." Myrtle Fillmore, Healing Letters 49

"What is the simplest way to acquire non-attachment to the desires, objects and ambitions of this world? We must begin by cultivating attachment to the highest object we can conceive of, to God himself." How to Know God - The Yoga Aphorisms of Patanjali 91

"It is unquestionable that the spiritualization of thought does, in practice, undoubtedly lead to the student to simplify his mode of life, for so many things that previously seemed important are now found to be unimportant and uninteresting." Emmet Fox, The Sermon on the Mount 93-94

"The law of the Lord is perfect, reviving the soul; the decrees of the Lord are sure, making wise the simple;" Psalms 19:7

Being Positive is the essence of this fourth 'Be Attitude', "Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled." Matthew 5:6. It is a function of having a one-pointed consciousness, having a stable mind and heart, of divine right thinking and keeping it simple. It is focusing upon the infinite, eternal, unlimited presence and power that is God. Here the darkness departs into the nothingness from which it comes and the Divine light of God is all that is. Matthew 6:1-18 correspond to the "Attitude of Being."

This month we contemplate and meditate and put into practice this attitude of Being Positive. We choose to use the appearance of any negativity as a reminder to look for the good and find God in all people, places and circumstances.

Please affirm with us: “I look beyond the appearance of darkness; I see the Light of God in all; I am the Light!"

Thank you God, thank you God, thank you God!

For so it is and so it shall be, Amen!

May 23, 2018 - "BEING RIGHT THINKING!"

“There is nothing either good or bad
but thinking makes it so.”
― William Shakespeare

"But whenever you pray, go into your room and shut the door and pray to your Father who is in secret; and your Father who sees in secret will reward you." Matthew 6:6

"All persons in rare moments catch glimpses of this creative plan as a whole, and of man's importance in its beauty and perfection. But this subject is so deep and so far-reaching that it can be realized in small degree only by those who have developed spiritual sight and feeling, and practice thinking in the fourth dimension, or kingdom of God.” Charles Fillmore, Atom Smashing Power of Man 62

"Pale sunlight, pale the wall. Love moves away. The light changes. I need more grace than I thought." The Essential Rumi, Coleman Barks 53

"Prayer, then, is to change mind and heart so that God's omnipresent good may fill our mind and heart and manifest in our life. If we do not keep on thinking in accord with the prayers we have made, we do not get good results." Myrtle Fillmore, Healing Letters 34

"Seeds of desire and attachment may still remain with the mind, even though perfect concentration has been achieved... However, liberation is now very near. The aspirant has already risen to such heights that it is unlikely that he will fall back into bondage." How to Know God - The Yoga Aphorisms of Patanjali 84

"It is important to remind ourselves over and over in our study of the Gospels that Jesus is dealing with but one thing: 'states of mind.' As used here (Matthew 5:6) the word 'righteousness' simply means 'right thinking'" Eric Butterworth, Discover The Power Within You 64

"My soul is satisfied as with a rich feast, and my mouth praises you with joyful lips when I think of you on my bed, and meditate on you in the watches of the night; for you have been my help, and in the shadow of your wings I sing for joy." Psalms 63:5-7

May 16, 2018 - "BEING STABLE!"

“There is nothing so stable as change.”
― Bob Dylan

"But when you give alms, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing, so that your alms may be done in secret; and your Father who sees in secret will reward you." Matthew 6:3-4

"The visible is what remains of an idea that has gradually lost its energy. Scientists say that this so-called solid earth under our feet was once radiant substance. Nothing is really 'solid'” Charles Fillmore, Atom Smashing Power of Man 50

"Let yourself be silently drawn by the stronger pull of what you really love." The Essential Rumi, Coleman Barks 51

"The human part of us wants to cling to things visible and to other people, but as the impersonal, spiritual, Christ finds expression we gradually cease to lean upon these material limitations. Our spiritual faculties become so strong, vital and substantial that we are able to contact the great invisible through them." Myrtle Fillmore, Healing Letters 90

"As the meditative mind turns inward, it probes through the gross outer coverings of things to their subtle essences; and beyond these subtle essences, it comes to Prakriti (elemental substance) itself." How to Know God - The Yoga Aphorisms of Patanjali 83

"Healthy are those who turn their mouths to receive a new birth of universal stability, they shall be encircled by the birth of a new society." (Matthew 5:6) Neil Douglas-Klotz, Prayers of the Cosmos 56

"My frame was not hidden from you, when I was being made in secret, intricately woven in the depths of the earth. Your eyes beheld my unformed substance. In your book were written all the days that were formed for me, when none of them as yet existed." Psalms 139:15-16

May 9, 2018 - "BEING ONE-POINTED!"

“To be everywhere
is to be nowhere.”
― Seneca

"Beware of practising your piety before others in order to be seen by them; for then you have no reward from your Father in heaven. So whenever you give alms, do not sound a trumpet before you, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets, so that they may be praised by others. Truly I tell you, they have received their reward." Matthew 6:1-2

"Spiritual realization changes things. In scientific prayer realization is the high point of attainment. With concentrated spiritual attention man can affirm in faith that God Spirit is present and that he, man, is one with the God presence.” Charles Fillmore, Atom Smashing Power of Man 49

"These pains that you feel are messengers. Listen to them. Turn them to sweetness. The night is almost over." The Essential Rumi, Coleman Barks 48-9

"We have a very decided part; we are to cease worrying, and being anxious, and thinking and speaking of the past and of the apparent lack and idleness. We are to concentrate all our attention upon the Truth of God, and the truth of our own being, upon the very things we would see taking place in our life." Myrtle Fillmore, Healing Letters 34

"Just as the pure crystal takes color from the object that is nearest to it, so the mind, when it is cleared of thought-waves, achieves sameness or identity with the object of its concentration." How to Know God - The Yoga Aphorisms of Patanjali 79

"We must learn to direct all our thoughts and all our energy consciously toward God... When the mind thus becomes one-pointed and concentrated upon God, we shall be filled with righteousness (right-use-ness.)" Swami Prabhavananda, The Sermon on the Mount according to Vedanta 24

"...the ordinances of the Lord are true and righteous altogether. More to be desired are they than gold, even much fine gold; sweeter also than honey, and drippings of the honeycomb." Psalms 19:9-10

 May 2, 2018 - "BEING POSITIVE!"

“Keep your face to the sunshine
and you cannot see a shadow.”
― Helen Keller

"Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled." Matthew 5:6

"Faith is the result of many affirmations. Each affirmation helps to build up a substantial, firm, unwavering state of mind, because it establishes Truth in consciousness.” Charles Fillmore, Keep a True Lent 143

"There is no reality but God, says the completely surrendered sheikh, who is an ocean for all beings." The Essential Rumi, Coleman Barks 44

"Positive declaration of the truth of one's unity with God sets up a new current of thought power, which delivers one from the old beliefs and their depression. And when the soul is lifted up and becomes positive, the body and the affairs are readily healed." Myrtle Fillmore, Healing Letters 35

"God is within us, and it is by the light of his presence -- no matter how dimly it shines through the layers of our ignorance -- that we fashion our own pictures and symbols of goodness and project them upon the outside world." How to Know God - The Yoga Aphorisms of Patanjali 76

"If you want spiritual unfoldment and growth in the knowledge of God, you must think spiritual thoughts -- God thoughts -- and give your attention, which is your life, to God rather than to limitation." Emmet Fox, The Sermon on the Mount 32

"For as he thinketh in his heart, so is he." Proverbs 23:7 KJV

April 25, 2018 - "BEING NON-ATTACHED!"

“Non-attachment
is the freedom of real love.”
― Sri Chinmoy

"But strive first for the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. So do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will bring worries of its own. Today’s trouble is enough for today." Matthew 6:33-34

"We demonstrate nonresistance by denying all intellectual opposition or antagonism. When the substance of divine love is poured out upon all alien thoughts we are not bothered by them any more.” Charles Fillmore, Keep a True Lent 30

"The same wind that uproots the trees makes the grasses shine. The lordly wind loves the weakness and the lowness of the grasses. Never brag of being strong." The Essential Rumi, Coleman Barks 43

"Working in the consciousness of freedom, we will be happy and well and busy and prosperous. But our attention will be upon what we are doing rather than upon outer results. The results will take care of themselves once we have started our foundation in Truth." Myrtle Fillmore, Healing Letters 34

"Let your mind dwell on some holy personality -- a Buddha, a Christ, a Ramakrishna. Then concentrate upon his heart. Try to imagine how it must feel to be a great saint; pure and untroubled by sense-objects, a knower of Brahman (God). Try to feel that the saint's heart has become your heart, within your own body." How to Know God - The Yoga Aphorisms of Patanjali 73-4

"But the man who has given up his sense of attachment experiences the advantages which possessions afford without the misery which possessiveness brings." Swami Prabhavananda, The Sermon on the Mount according to Vedanta 22

"Some give freely, yet grow all the richer; others withhold what is due, and only suffer want." Proverbs 11:24

The essence of this third 'Be Attitude', "Blessed are the meek, for they will inherit the earth." Matthew 5:5, is an attitude of Nonresistance. Water is nonresistant, flowing freely, and yet it overcomes the greatest of mountains or obstacles in its path. And so, this month we contemplate and meditate and put into practice this attitude of Being Nonresistant.

Matthew 6:19-34 corresponds to this 'Attitude of Being' and demonstrates that being meek or nonresistant encompasses the attitudes of being In Tune with the Infinite, being Integrated into the whole and being Non Attached to the fruits of our actions. The good that we are seeking is seeking us and so we let it find us in our seeking.

Please affirm with us: “I relax, I let go and I let God's good come forth!"

Thank you God, thank you God, thank you God!

For so it is and so it shall be, Amen!

"Each must handle his own thoughts and overcome them by aligning them with the harmony and order of the divine thought. There is an infinite, omnipresent wisdom within us that will deal with these thoughts and guide us in making the discrimination between the right and the wrong when we trust ourselves fully to its intelligence.” Charles Fillmore, Prosperity 174

"No one notices how steam opens the rose of each mind, fills every beggar's cup solid with coins. Hold out a basket. It fills up so well that emptiness becomes what you want." The Essential Rumi, Coleman Barks 39

"God gives freely; it is for us to keep the receiving channels open, to keep attuned to the realities so that this intellect of ours does not take us out among the limited ideas of the world." Myrtle Fillmore, Healing Letters 44

the defense against which
no attack can be launched."
―  Imelda Octavia Shanklin

"Blessed are the meek, for they will inherit the earth." Matthew 5:5

"You have been made to feel that nonresistance, and righteousness, and Christianity, and loving service are all passive. You have allowed your personal ideas of love and goodwill to make you too sympathetic and inclined to give, without seeking and asking for wisdom and good judgment to direct you." Myrtle Fillmore, Healing Letters 111

"If we introduce into this reverie (of thoughts) the repetition of the name of God, we find that we can control our moods, despite the interference of the outside world." How to Know God - The Yoga Aphorisms of Patanjali 59
