June 26, 2019 - "DESIRE FAITH!"

“All that spirits desire,
spirits attain.”
~ Khalil Gibran

"When Abram was ninety-nine years old the Lord appeared to Abram, and said to him, “I am God Almighty; walk before me, and be blameless. And I will make my covenant between me and you, and will multiply you exceedingly." Genesis 17:1-2

"Desire in the heart for anything is God's sure promise sent beforehand to indicate that it is yours already in the limitless realm of supply..." Complete Works of H. Emilie Cady, Lessons in Truth 69

"It was revealed to Abram that he should henceforth be called Abraham, which means 'father of a multitude.' The change in name always denotes a change in character so pronounced that the old name will no longer apply to the new person." Charles Fillmore, Mysteries of Genesis 151

"Perfect balance is found in still waters." The Book of Chuang Tzu, Martin Palmer, et. al. 43

"Anything that awakens in me the loving desire to have others happy and adorned with beautiful things, and anything that helps me to express this loving desire in my own living is sure to bring forth its fruit in my own life. " Myrtle Fillmore, Healing Letters 19

"Many men go fishing all of their lives without knowing that it is not fish that they are after." Thoreau, Zen To Go, Jon Winokur 59

"The Creator, in taking infinite pains to shroud with mystery His presence in every atom of creation, could have had but one motive - a sensitive desire that men seek Him only through free will.” Paramahansa Yogananda

"Then Abraham fell on his face and laughed, and said to himself, “Shall a child be born to a man who is a hundred years old? Shall Sarah, who is ninety years old, bear a child?”" Genesis 17:17

Faith is an immutable power within us, "the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen" Hebrews 11:1. It's effectiveness in our lives is dependent upon the direction in which we focus it; are we placing our trust in outer people, places, things and circumstances for guidance and direction or do we place our faith in God: good orderly direction, and Spirit for guidance and direction knowing, "that in everything God works for good" Romans 8:28. And, we generally require others who will act as Spiritual Guides to assist us in recognizing and realizing Divine Guidance.

Abram 'Exalted Father' who became Abraham 'father of a multitude' represents faith in a primitive unenlightened or unregenerated state of consciousness. He is asked to give up everything he knows, everything that he has, his family, his home, to follow the direction of spirit. In return, Abraham's descendants will form a great nation. This is the guidance of Spirit: to release all that you possess and that possesses you so that you might experience the greater good Spirit has in store. See Genesis chapters 12 - 17.

This month we continue our joint study of our beginnings; the book of Genesis, metaphysically understood, is the story of the beginnings of our journey toward conscious union with the Divine and Lessons in Truth is Unity's first and perhaps clearest exposition of Truth teachings. Chapter 6 is on Faith, Blind Faith, Understanding Faith, the unchangeable reality of Truth and of desire (of the Father.)

Please affirm with us: “With God as my Source, all I need and desire is readily provided!"

Thank you God, thank you God, thank you God!

For so it is and so it shall be, Amen!

"If you live for long around virtuous people, you are free from all excess." The Book of Chuang Tzu, Martin Palmer, et. al. 40

"To know how to hear with the mind, and to discern and discriminate between the true and real and worth while and that which is mere foolishness and the clatter of elements not yet organized under law; and to realize that one may be obedient and receptive without giving up one's own right to freedom of choice and action, is real accomplishment." Myrtle Fillmore, Healing Letters 105

Complete Works of H. Emilie Cady, Lessons in Truth 65

"Every faculty of the mind has an active and a passive side, an objective and a subjective, a positive and a negative. Abraham represents the faculty of faith in its positive expression. To complete the symbol we find Lot (hidden, concealed) representing the negative or undeveloped aspect of faith." Charles Fillmore, Mysteries of Genesis 126

And that faith and understanding and the determination to live according to the Creator's plan will bring forth whatever is needed, will do just this for everyone who puts his trust fully in the Father." Myrtle Fillmore, Healing Letters 22

"The universe was a vast machine yesterday, it is a hologram today. Who knows what intellectual rattle we'll be shaking tomorrow." R. D. Laing, Zen To Go, Jon Winokur 54

May 29, 2019 - "EXALTED CONSCIOUSNESS!"

“For everyone who exalts himself will be humbled,
and everyone who humbles himself will be exalted. ”
~ Matthew 23:12

"Terah took Abram his son and Lot the son of Haran, his grandson, and Sar′ai his daughter-in-law, his son Abram’s wife, and they went forth together from Ur of the Chalde′ans to go into the land of Canaan." Genesis12:31a

"Denials have an erasive or dissolving tendency. Affirmations build up and give strength and courage and power... Deny the appearance of evil; affirm good. Deny weakness; affirm strength. Deny any undesirable condition and affirm the good you desire." Complete Works of H. Emilie Cady, Lessons in Truth 61

"Haran symbolizes an exalted state of mind, wherein Truth is lifted up in consciousness and the individual is strengthened in his determination to go on toward fuller spiritual enlightenment and upliftment." Charles Fillmore, Mysteries of Genesis 113

"...but when they came to Haran, they settled there." Genesis 11:31b

We are all on a journey of Self-realization; some of us are more consciously participating in the process. The Genesis teaching stories evidence how we became aware of our selves as individualized expressions of the one and stepped out into the world of sensory experience. The physical became all consuming until our minds became flooded with too much information to hold at one time that then became submerged in the subconscious, the collective unconscious or race consciousness. Noah's Ark represents the conscious awareness of God as good orderly direction which allow us to ride above the floods of negativity.

A new mental level of existence arises forming a renewed relationship (covenant) with the Divine; the rainbow is the result of light refracted into the many colors of the spectrum just we are each a refraction of the Light of God into many hues and colors. Noah plants a vineyard and consumes the wine (spirits) a poor substitution for direct contact with Spirit.

Chapter 11 of the book of Genesis contains the Tower of Babel story and ends with Abram's father Terah leading the family toward Canaan. Confusion (Babel) reigns when we attempt to "make a name for ourselves." We are holy, perfect, sinless, children of God. Yet we think we are otherwise. This leads to an experience of Hell (useless unnecessary suffering): confusion, disillusionment and separation.

Dr. Emily Cady's book Lessons in Truth, 5th chapter, discusses Affirmations or positive statements of Truth. These are necessary, often paired with the denials of the power we give to false appearances, to realize the Truth of our being one with the infinite: God!

Please affirm with us: “God in me is infinite wisdom; I know just what to do!"

Thank you God, thank you God, thank you God!

For so it is and so it shall be, Amen!

Complete Works of H. Emilie Cady, Lessons in Truth 60

"... it is not Spirit that leads man astray but man's interpretation of the message of Spirit as molded by man's mentality... Babel represents the mental chaos that is the result of thinking from a wholly material standpoint." Charles Fillmore, Mysteries of Genesis 109

"To serve your own soul in such a way as to prevent either joy or sorrow within, but outwardly to handle what life throws at you as inevitable and not to be worried by this, this is the perfection of Virtue." The Book of Chuang Tzu, Martin Palmer, et. al. 30

"This is the sign of the covenant which I make between me and you and every living creature that is with you, for all future generations: I set my bow in the cloud, and it shall be a sign of the covenant between me and the earth. " Genesis 9:12-13

In our journey toward conscious realization and actualization of the Divine, we have come into conscious awareness of our selves as individuals, and have begun the process of differentiation of the physical (Cain) from the mental (Abel), the sensory experience has become all consuming (Cain slew Abel) yet balance has been re-established with the birth of Seth (compensation, substitution.)

In chapter 6 of Genesis the Nephilim are the giants of negativity we perceive when we our spiritual faculties are focused upon the outer experience; faith becomes fear, love becomes lust, power becomes domination, etc. A cleansing in consciousness (flood) is required to release the power we have given to error thinking and regain a conscious connection with the Divine Spirit.

The 4th chapter of Dr. Cady's book, Lessons in Truth, covers the topic of Denial; not the psychological concept of denial of what is real, it is the power of Renunciation: to release the power that we have given to outside people, situations and circumstances and regain the power to choose awareness of the Divine.
We can differentiate between the carnal mind and the Divine Mind, we deny the power of outer conditions to control our expression of life, we crave Good Orderly Direction (GOD) and experience true freedom from the bondage to sense consciousness.

Please affirm with us: “There is nothing in all the universe for me to fear, for greater is the Divine in me than that which is the world!"

Thank you God, thank you God, thank you God!

For so it is and so it shall be, Amen!
