"True prayers accumulated 'treasures in heaven' i.e. a rich consciousness filled with faith and peace... brings wholeness to our life and frees us from the darkness or limitation that comes from seeing good and evil." Elizabeth Sand Turner, Your Hope of Glory, 97

The Lord's Prayer (Our Father), Matthew 6:9-13, is our topic for the month of June. Found within The Sermon on the Mount (Matthew 5, 6, & 7), it is a model for positive, affirmative prayer. It affirms 'The Good News!' of the Gospels which is our theme for the year.

It can be interpreted in the affirmative: for example, "Thy Kingdom has come, Thy will is done...", etc. In this light, we can see how the seven parts to the prayer relate to the three basic elements to effective prayer.

Belief: we focus our belief by recognizing the Divinity of Spirit, our relationship to Spirit and our desire to be pure channels for the physical expression of the Divine Spirit (verses 9 & 10).

Willingness: we confirm our willingness to participate in the process by affirming that Spirit provides for our every need (verse 11) and purifies our mind and heart (verses 12&13) as we release any thought of wrong or evil or temptation to believe that we are anything less than wholly perfect sinless children of God.

Thanksgiving: we give praise and thanksgiving knowing that "Thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory, forever. Amen, (so be it) (Epilogue)."

And so we realize the Good News!

Thank you for accompanying us on this journey of self-discovery!

Please affirm with us: “I AM open, receptive and responsive to the Infinite Spirit of Truth!"

Thank you God, thank you God, thank you God!

For so it is and so it shall be, Amen!

The word most often interpreted as "Blessed" can also mean happy, aligned, in-tune or awakened. “Nothing is at last sacred but the integrity of your own mind.”

Do not cast aside the Heavenly, and do not ignore the human aspect: then the people will draw closer to the realization of Truth!" The Book of Chuang Tzu, Martin Palmer,et. al. 158

"Dear one, you are becoming consciously established in the poise of the Christ Mind, where you are constantly open and receptive to new ideas, new inspiration, new vitality... You are putting the personal self aside in order that the capacity of the Christ I AM may be demonstrated." Myrtle Fillmore, Healing Letters 174

"Our innate desire is to grow spiritually; we want to see the 'kingdom of God.' But this is not possible until we are 'born anew'... we must be willing and eager to come into a higher state of consciousness... the consciousness of divine law and to lift the whole man into a new life of harmony and order...'" “We are shaped by our thoughts; we become what we think. When the mind is pure, joy follows like a shadow that never leaves.” -- Buddha

“Jesus answered, 'Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God. That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.'” John 3:5-6

"Jesus: Wonderful Counselor!" is our topic for this month. In keeping with our annual theme, "The Good News!", we are exploring the teachings of the Master. As a Spiritual Counselor, he worked with three basic premises: 1) the individual is whole and complete just as they are; there is nothing to fix (John 5:2-18), 2) the Christ within desires perfect expression (John 14:20), and 3) guidance is not rationally or logically determined but is intuitively (Divinely) directed (John 3:1-15).

The Sermon on the Mount, Matthew 5, 6 & 7, which we will explore in more detail next month, is structured around the Beattitudes (Mt 3-10). These "Attitudes of Being" are to direct our thoughts and thinking about life and living.

In Mark 10: 13-16, He instructs us to become "like a child" open, receptive, without preconceived notions and prejudices.

In Luke 10:23-37, we find out how to be a good neighbor; we are not to be like the hypocrites avoiding our responsibilities to our brothers and sisters; we are to give aid to those in need.

In John 3:1-15, we are instructed in the necessity of being "born anew", "born of water and the Spirit". "God is Spirit", John 4:24, and we are made in the image and after the likeness of Spirit (Genesis 1:26) ; we are inherently Spiritual beings having a human experience as well as human beings learning to express our Spiritual reality.

This is Good News!

Thank you for accompanying us on this journey of self-discovery!

Please affirm with us: “I align my mind with the God Mind; my thoughts are God thoughts; my actions are guided by Good Orderly Direction; we are one!"

Thank you God, thank you God, thank you God!

For so it is and so it shall be, Amen!
