August 11, 2021 - "ABSOUTE MIND!"

“Whatever the mind of man can conceive
and believe, it can achieve.”
- Napoleon Hill

"But turning and seeing his disciples, he rebuked Peter, and said, 'Get behind me, Satan! For you are not on the side of God, but of men.'” Mark 8:33

"Jesus had a grasp of divine ideas, and if we believe in and follow Him we shall come into the Christ state of mind. We become like-minded by entering into the absolute Mind. In the absolute Mind there is only harmony." Charles Fillmore, Jesus Christ Heals 130

"There is no greater sadness than the death of the heart - beside which the death of the body is secondary." The Book of Chuang Tzu, Martin Palmer, et. al. 179

"We commune with God-Mind within our own consciousness. Prayer is an exercise to change our own thought habits and our living habits, that we may set up a new and better activity, in accord with the divine law rather than with the suggestions we have received from various sources." Myrtle Fillmore, Healing Letters 33

"Guarding knowledge is not a good way to understand. Understanding means to throw away your knowledge." Thich Nhat Hanh, Being Peace 43

"In the degree that we come into the realization of the higher powers of the mind and spirit, in that degree does the body, through their influence upon it, become less gross and heavy, finer in its texture and form." Ralph Waldo Trine, In Tune With The Infinite. 77

"It is difficult for the human mind to perceive that spiritual mastery is the one goal worth striving for, and that it demands the complete surrender of self. Man must be willing to give up natural inclinations before he can take on spiritual characteristics." Elizabeth Sand Turner, Your Hope of Glory, 141

“Can the mind see the truth of its own incapacity to know the unknown? Surely if I see very clearly that my mind cannot know the unknown, there is absolute quietness.” Jiddu Krishnamurti

“Make friends quickly with your accuser (Satan), while you are going with him to court, lest your accuser hand you over to the judge, and the judge to the guard, and you be put in prison;...” Matthew 5:25

The problem of evil is our topic for this month in our study of the Gospels, 'The Good News!' Three of the most misunderstood concepts included in Biblical literature are: Sin, Evil, and the Devil. When the root meanings and the history of these words are understood, all of the dogma that has surrounded these concepts melts like ice in the warmth of the sun; the darkness disappears in the light of understanding.

The word sin comes from the Latin syne which is an archery term that means to miss the mark. The answer to sin is to "...go, and do not sin again." John 8:11. We learn from our mistakes!

The beginning of the awareness of evil is symbolized by the Garden of Eden story where Adam eats of the fruit of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, Genesis 2:15-3:19. But in reality evil has no existence in and of its self. It only exists in the minds of men. In Truth it is all good. "And God saw everything that he had made and behold, it was very good." Genesis 1:31. In practical terms it is to 'live' backwards, rising from outer events rather than from inner truth.

The Devil/Satan concept has grown out of the human need to assess blame for apparent evil upon a supernatural force, and therefore remove our responsibility for taking care of ourselves, our neighbors and our planet. Jesus clearly states that this belief is the starting point for all error "because there is no truth in him" John 8:44. The Devil does not exist in and of itself. It only exists in the mind darkened by sense consciousness.

Casting the light of understanding upon these concepts we can watch them dissolve back into the nothingness from which they came. God the good is all there is, and "We know that in everything God works for good..." Romans 8:28. We place our lives under the care of God (Good Orderly Direction) and realize the presence of Divine Order and Divine Timing in this now moment.

Thank you for accompanying us on this journey of self-discovery!

Please affirm with us: “Divine Order and Divine Timing are now established in my life and affairs!"

Thank you God, thank you God, thank you God!

For so it is and so it shall be, Amen!

August 4, 2021 - "DIVINE ORDER!"

“Good order is the foundation of all things.”
― Edmund Burke

"When they kept on questioning him, he straightened up and said to them, 'Let any one of you who is without sin be the first to throw a stone at her.'" John 8:7

"Whatever there was in mind, body, or affairs that was out of harmony will easily be adjusted when you open the way in your mind for the manifestation of divine order." Charles Fillmore, Jesus Christ Heals 118

"If you act rightly but unselfconsciously, you will be universally loved!" The Book of Chuang Tzu, Martin Palmer, et. al. 175

"Let us think of ourselves as already manifesting perfection in mind, soul, and body, and give thanks that divine order is now established." Myrtle Fillmore, Healing Letters 58

"You have to transform the muddy water into clear water to drink... So you let it settle for a while, and clear water will appear. In the same way, we have to convert anger into some kind of energy that is more constructive... That is the work of meditation." Thich Nhat Hanh, Being Peace 41

"The soul is divine and in allowing it to become translucent to the Infinite Spirit it reveals all things to us." Ralph Waldo Trine, In Tune With The Infinite. 75

"Sometimes it seems that we must choose between a cruel act and upholding wrongdoing. Only the Christ can tell us how to act in accordance with Principle, and when we do everyone is benefited." Elizabeth Sand Turner, Your Hope of Glory, 154

“When the divine vision is attained, all appear equal; and there remains no distinction of good and bad, or of high and low.” Ramakrishna

“Neither do I condemn you; go, and do not sin again.” John 8:11

July 28, 2021 - "THE KINGDOM OF GOD!"

“The Kingdom of Heaven is not a place, but a state of mind.”
― John Burroughs

"Once again, the kingdom of heaven is like a net that was let down into the lake and caught all kinds of fish." Matthew 13:47

"This is no fanciful sketch, nor does it refer to a theoretical place or condition to be reached in some future state or under circumstances more propitious. This kingdom of God is now existing right here in our midst." Charles Fillmore, Jesus Christ Heals 115

"I was so concerned with my body that I forgot my self. It was like looking into cloudy water, thinking it was really clear." The Book of Chuang Tzu, Martin Palmer, et. al. 175

"To be truly healed and quickened by the life more abundant, one must forget the past, and the limitations of the past, and offer every thought, every ounce of energy to Spirit, to be used in bringing God's kingdom of light and love and order and beauty and health into the earth, into the lives of all people." Myrtle Fillmore, Healing Letters 53

"Irritation is a destructive energy. We cannot destroy the energy; we can only convert it into a more constructive energy." Thich Nhat Hanh, Being Peace 41

"The light is ever shining, and the only thing that it is necessary for us diligently to see to is that we permit neither this thing nor that to come between us and the light." Ralph Waldo Trine, In Tune With The Infinite. 73

"We live in a great sea of universal life. Our mind accumulates every kind of thought... When we come into an understanding of Truth we have the discernment to separate good ideas from limited beliefs." Elizabeth Sand Turner, Your Hope of Glory, 110

“Not what I have, but what I do is my kingdom.” Thomas Carlyle

“When it was full, the fishermen pulled it up on the shore. Then they sat down and collected the good fish in baskets, but threw the bad away.” Matthew 13:48

The kingdom of Heaven (God) is one of the most misunderstood concepts in Christianity. Jesus never described it as a place in the sky or that it is to be experienced after death. He teaches that Heaven is an activity in consciousness that we can choose to participate in right here and now.

In the Gospel of Matthew chapter 13, He likens it to sowing seeds that grow to maturity, to leaven that leavens flour, to treasures worth releasing everything to obtain and a net full of fish to be sorted. These are activities that we can choose to participate in.

The seeds are thoughts and feelings that we plant in the soil of the subconscious mind. The leaven is the Spirit of Truth that when realized brings all of life into perspective. The treasure is the kingdom within which when we find it we realize that it is all the we need for a happy, success-filled life. The net is our consciousness that we open through self-awareness to release the ideas that don't serve our spiritual growth and retain the positive, growth enhancing, ideas in the vessels of our conscious minds.

Heaven and Hell are states of consciousness that we choose to participate in. And, no matter what choices we have made in the past, we can choose again (repent) and realize the Heaven that is within our reach. This truly is the Good News!

Thank you for accompanying us on this journey of self-discovery!

Please affirm with us: “I AM a radiating center of light and love, mighty to attract my good and to radiate good to others."

Thank you God, thank you God, thank you God!

For so it is and so it shall be, Amen!

July 21, 2021 - "DIVINE PRESENCE!"

“God is a presence that I can never define but I could never deny.”
― John Shelby Spong

"The kingdom of heaven is like treasure hidden in a field. When a man found it, he hid it again, and then in his joy went and sold all he had and bought that field." Matthew 13:44

"By prayer and meditation on words of Truth in the silence we may so open our consciousness to the inner divine presence that the necessary understanding, love, and power may be given us to enable us to bring forth in our own lives the good results that we wish to see manifest." Charles Fillmore, Jesus Christ Heals 111

"It is easy not to care about what comes from Heaven. It is hard not to care about what comes from people. Nothing begins which will not end, Heaven and humanity are one." The Book of Chuang Tzu, Martin Palmer, et. al. 173

"When wisdom and love and life and power prompt your thoughts, you are living and moving and having your being in the very presence of God, and you know that all is well." Myrtle Fillmore, Healing Letters 43

"Contemplating body in the body means that you do not stand outside of something to contemplate it. You must be one with it, with no distinction between the contemplator and the contemplated." Thich Nhat Hanh, Being Peace 39

"Many indeed are moved and so are called to be teachers of truth; but the true teacher will never stand as the interpreter of truth for another. The true teacher is the one whose endeavour is to bring the one he teaches to a true knowledge of himself and hence of his own interior powers, that he may become his own interpreter." Ralph Waldo Trine, In Tune With The Infinite. 70-71

"For a time we keep this precious secret to ourselves and hide it in our heart. Eventually, however, we realize that if we are to have the benefit of God's good we must pay a price for it. The cost is our surrender to Him in time, devotion, and obedience... Then the treasure is ours to be used to make life fuller and richer in every way." Elizabeth Sand Turner, Your Hope of Glory, 109

“Just remaining quietly in the presence of God, listening to Him, being attentive to Him, requires a lot of courage and know-how.” Thomas Merton

“Whoever has ears, let them hear.” Matthew 13:43

July 14, 2021 - "THOUGHT SEEDS!"

“Change your thoughts and you change your world.”

"Thoughts are seeds that, when dropped or planted in the subconscious mind, germinate, grow, and bring forth their fruit in due season... Change your thought seeds and reap what you desire." Charles Fillmore, Jesus Christ Heals 112

"Concerning the body, just let it go with the flow... If you go with the flow, you avoid separation,.. No separation, no exhaustion, so no need to adorn the exterior of the body. When you no longer need to do this, you are free of concern with material things." The Book of Chuang Tzu, Martin Palmer, et. al. 172

"Prayer is an exercise to change our own thought habits and our living habits, that we may set up a new and better activity, in accord with the divine law rather than with the suggestions we have received from various sources." Myrtle Fillmore, Healing Letters 33

"The French language has the word comprendre, which means to understand, to know, to comprehend. Com means to be one, to be together, and prendre means to take or to grasp. To understand something is to take that thing up and to be one with it. " Thich Nhat Hanh, Being Peace 38

"When a man or a woman opens himself or herself fully to the entrance of truth from whatever source it may come, there is an equally great law which says that truth will flow in to him or to her from all sources, from all quarters. Such becomes the free man, the free woman, for it is the truth that makes us free." Ralph Waldo Trine, In Tune With The Infinite. 70-71

"Each of us has the power to choose the kind of consciousness that we will have, and the outcome of our hearing the word will either be indifferent or beneficial, according to the way in which we receive it. The seed falls into our mind and responds to our consciousness." Elizabeth Sand Turner, Your Hope of Glory, 106

“The happiness of your life depends upon the quality of your thoughts: therefore, guard accordingly, and take care that you entertain no notions unsuitable to virtue and reasonable nature.” Marcus Aurelius

“Jesus spoke all these things to the crowd in parables; he did not say anything to them without using a parable.” Matthew 13:34
