September 21, 2022 - "MOVEMENTS IN THE MIND!"

Who looks outside, dreams;
who looks inside, awakes.

 – Carl Jung

"And he said to them, 'This kind cannot be driven out by anything but prayer and fasting.'” Mark 9:29.

"In every change of consciousness on the physical plane, there is a breaking down of some cells and a building up of other cells to take their place. Mentally this is denial and affirmation, and this process in the body is the result of these two movements in the mind which have occurred at some previous period." Charles Fillmore, The Twelve Powers of Man 128.

"See using the eyes, hear using the ears, have vision using the heart. If you do this the course is straight as if measured using a line, the changes are congenial." The Book of Chuang Tzu, Martin Palmer, et. al. 221.

"God gives freely; it is for us to keep the receiving channels open, to keep attuned to the realities so that this intellect of ours does not take us out among the limited ideas of the world " Myrtle Fillmore, Healing Letters 28.

"While practicing mindfulness, don't be dominated by the distinction between good and evil... Once you have reached such an awareness, there will be nothing  you need fear anymore." Thich Nhat Hanh, Miracle of Mindfulness, 39.

"When we recognize the fact that man carries his success or his failure with him, and that it doe not depend upon outside conditions, we shall come into the possession of powers that will quickly change outside conditions into agencies that make for success." Ralph Waldo Trine, In Tune With The Infinite. 119.

"Denial is the mental process of cleansing false thoughts from the mind by repudiating them... An affirmation is a statement of Truth. We first make a denial of the error and, then, we affirm that which is good. Denials erase errors from the mind and affirmations establish spiritual ideas," Elizabeth Sand Turner, Your Hope of Glory, 36-37.

“We never fully grasp the import of any true statement until we have a clear notion of what the opposite untrue statement would be.” - William James

“Let what you say be simply ‘Yes’ or ‘No’; anything more than this comes from evil." Matthew 5:37.

Our study for 2022 is The Twelve Powers of Man by Charles Fillmore, Unity's system for the realization of the Regeneration. These "twelve fundamental faculties" (pg 62) are inherent expressions of the Christ within. By awakening to these faculties we raise our awareness of their role in establishing a new and higher dimension to life and living.

The Spiritual Faculty of Order (Law and Order) is our focus this month. "Think not that I have come to abolish the law and the prophets; I have come not to abolish them but to fulfil them." Matthew 5:17.

James, the son of Alphaeus is the disciple that represents Order. "There is a law of spiritual and mental growth constantly at work in the mind..." (pg 120), Its seat is in the naval and the digestive organs. It is closely tied to our ability to digest and express Truth. Here we find we have the power of choice between man made rules or restrictions and Divine Law and Order that works for the greater good. We have order, it is inherent within us. God in us gives us the ability to choose what is highest and best for all.

Each of these spiritual faculties have both a masculine, assertive, active ability and a feminine, receptive, passive attitude quality. Order is the ability for organization, to establish proper sequence. It is an attitude of patience, to perceive system and Divine Order is active in the Universe.

Thank you for accompanying us on this journey of self-realization and discovery of our Divine potential!

Please affirm with us: “God is Order: Divine Order and Divine Timing are now established in my life and affairs!"

Thank you God, thank you God, thank you God!

For so it is and so it shall be, Amen!

"Practicing like this is to become mindful of your feelings and thoughts. You will soon arrive at taking hold of your mind. One can join the method of mindfulness of the breath with the mindfulness of feelings and thoughts." Thich Nhat Hanh, Miracle of Mindfulness, 38-39.

"We are sons of God, but our sonship is merely an inherent potentiality until we gain peace of mind and express it. Then we are His sons in actuality." Elizabeth Sand Turner, Your Hope of Glory, 93.

"When wisdom and love and life and power prompt your thoughts, you are living and moving and having your being in the very presence of God, and you know that all is well... With a relaxed body you will lay hold of more life activity and come forth refreshed." Myrtle Fillmore, Healing Letters 43.

Matthew is the disciple that represents Will. It is "the executive faculty of the mind" (pg 105), its seat is in the forehead, it is closely related to Imagination and Understanding. Here we have the power of choice whether to be willful, full of our own self will, or willing for God/good to work through us. We have will, it is inherent within us. God in us gives us the ability to choose what is highest and best for all.

Each of these spiritual faculties have both a masculine, assertive, active ability and a feminine, receptive, passive attitude quality. Will is the ability for determination, to act decisively. It is an attitude of aim, a willingness to seek God/good
