Fall 2023

December 27, 2023 – SUPREME PERFECTION!

“Perfection itself is imperfection.” — Vladimir Horowitz

“Thou dost keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee, because he trusts in thee.” Isaiah 26:3.

“God is the supreme perfection; the Word is like unto that perfection. All its creations are perfect. It takes cognizance of the perfect only… Its office is to behold the perfection of its Being; and as we do the works of the Father, we behold and restore that which is and always was perfect.” Charles Fillmore, Teach Us To Pray,170.

“To consider the origin as pure and that which emerges as coarse; to view accumulation as inadequate; to live by oneself in peace and with spiritual clarity, this what in ancient times was known as the way of the Tao.” The Book of Chuang Tzu, Martin Palmer, et. al., 303.

“Everything in God’s world is working toward perfection. The restoring power of God in the midst of you is working quickly and harmoniously to build in cells and substance that will knit together whatever place needs rebuilding.” Myrtle Fillmore, How To Let God Help You, 105.

“We eat and drink all the time, but we usually ingest only our ideas, projects, worries, and anxiety. We do not really eat our bread and drink our beverage. If we allow ourselves to touch our bread deeply, we become reborn, because our bread is life itself.” Thich Nhat Hanh, Living Buddha, Living Christ, 30-31.

“Before you leave your home in the morning to go about your activities, whether they be marketing, shopping, or business, you must undertake a daily work to remind yourself that you have ‘died’ to your human sense and have been reborn through the Word. Your consciousness is constituted of the word of God, and as you go out into the world, you carry God’s grace everywhere you walk.” Joel Goldsmith, The Altitude of Prayer, 70.

“Every law in the universe — if it is a law — is constantly in operation. It operates in our life. It operates when we ask it to. It operates when we do not ask it to. It works for us when we align ourselves with it. But it does not stop working when we do not align ourselves with it.” James Dillet Freeman, Prayer the Master Key, 64.

“Every particular in nature, a leaf, a drop, a crystal, a moment of time is related to the whole, and partakes of the perfection of the whole.” — Ralph Waldo Emerson.

“For our knowledge is imperfect and our prophecy is imperfect; but when the perfect comes, the imperfect will pass away.” 1 Corinthians 13:9-10.

December 20, 2023 – DIVINE HARMONY!

“He who lives in harmony with himself lives in harmony with the universe.” — Marcus Aurelius

“And above all these put on love, which binds everything together in perfect harmony.” Colossians 3:14.

“When we fully realize that God is a great mind in which ‘we live, and move, and have our being,’ we shall begin to use our mind in consonance with the Mind omnipresent. Then a supreme harmony will be ours, and prayer will become a divine soliloquy.” Charles Fillmore, Teach Us To Pray,158.

“This should be the purpose of the heart: not to be trapped by convention, nor to be concerned with adornments; not to be thoughtless in treating others, nor to be in opposition to the crowd; to want the whole world to live in peace and balance for the sake of the people’s unity, to look to the needs of others as well as yourself.” The Book of Chuang Tzu, Martin Palmer, et. al., 300.

“It is the habitation of the perfected souls that have come into a consciousness of their unity with the one Mind, and as we go within ourselves in the silence we come into a certain degree of harmony with it.” Myrtle Fillmore, How To Let God Help You, 81.

“Piety is the recognition that everything is linked to the presence of God in every moment… This is a practice of mindfulness.” Thich Nhat Hanh, Living Buddha, Living Christ, 29.

“The first month or two of a life of prayer may be difficult, but after a couple of months of this practice, a person could no more go through a fifteen-minute period without some conscious realization of God than he could go fifteen minutes without breathing. It would be impossible.” Joel Goldsmith, The Altitude of Prayer, 69.

“Principles do not go into action because we beg them to. They act because they are already and always in action… It operates when we ask it to. It operates when we do not ask it to.” James Dillet Freeman, Prayer the Master Key, 64.

“Nothing in the universe is contingent, but all things are conditioned to exist and operate in a particular manner by the necessity of the divine nature.” — Baruch Spinoza.

“Live in harmony with one another; do not be haughty, but associate with the lowly; never be conceited.” Romans 12:16.

December 13, 2023 – SUPREME MIND!

“In the superconscious awareness there is no division.” — Frederick Lenz

“Do not be conformed to this world but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that you may prove what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.” Romans 12:2.

“Do not supplicate and beg God to give you what you need, but realize, affirm, and absolutely know that your supreme mind is functioning right now in God-Mind itself…” Charles Fillmore, Teach Us To Pray,157.

“The one who views Heaven as the primal source, Virtue as the root and the Tao as a gate, and sees change and transformation as natural, such a one we call a sage.” The Book of Chuang Tzu, Martin Palmer, et. al., 296.

“As you find the Christ in yourself, you realize that you are one with Jesus Christ in God-Mind. Your soul has taken deep root in the universal Mind, and you are growing and unfolding, drawing upon the Invisible and making God manifest. ” Myrtle Fillmore, How To Let God Help You, 73.

“Eating mindfully is a wonderful way to nourish compassion… it is wonderful and joyful to be completely present with our food.” Thich Nhat Hanh, Living Buddha, Living Christ, 28.

“Early in your experience, you will learn that in order to live a life of prayer, it is necessary to practice the presence of God, consciously to make an effort to keep God in consciousness.” Joel Goldsmith, The Altitude of Prayer, 68.

“If we think of God as a Person, then we can expect that sometimes He will respond to us and sometimes will not. But when we think of God as Principle, immediately we see that we have to approach Him in a different way and He will respond to us in a different way.” James Dillet Freeman, Prayer the Master Key, 64.

“There exists a special self which takes every event as if it were the very thing you wanted to happen. That self is the Supermind, which is never upset by anything. Your goal is to nourish it into greater strength. Then, every step is sunlit.” — Vernon Howard.

“He has made everything beautiful in its time; also he has put eternity into man’s mind, yet so that he cannot find out what God has done from the beginning to the end.” Ecclesiastes 3:11.

December 6, 2023 – FAITH ACTION!

“Faith is not something to grasp, it is a state to grow into.” — Mahatma Gandhi

“So faith by itself, if it has no works, is dead. But some one will say, “You have faith and I have works.” Show me your faith apart from your works, and I by my works will show you my faith.” James 2:17-18.

“There must be faith action before the forces that restore the life to the organism can be set in operation… Nature is the servant of mind, and when lawful thoughts are enthroned in consciousness, nature restores the natural harmony existing between spirit, soul, and body.” Charles Fillmore, Teach Us To Pray,150.

“The perfect man… concentrates his spirit upon that which was before the beginning and rests in the strangeness of being in the fields of nothingness. Like water he flows without form, or pours out into the great purity.” The Book of Chuang Tzu, Martin Palmer, et. al., 290.

“Pray for your innate and unlimited faith in God to be quickened and stirred into positive action. With your eye of faith see yourself continuously manifesting purity, harmony, and wholeness in every part of your body.” Myrtle Fillmore, How To Let God Help You, 117.

“Mindful eating is an important practice. It nourishes alertness in us… it is wonderful and joyful to be completely present with our food.” Thich Nhat Hanh, Living Buddha, Living Christ, 27, 28.

“To be in prayer means to be in a listening attitude, in an inner stillness, not cluttered up with outside noises… inside there is a part of us unmoved by those outer things and able to listen for the Voice, even in the clamor of the world.” Joel Goldsmith, The Altitude of Prayer, 67-8.

“We want to bring God down closer to our level and make Him more like ourselves. Perhaps, what He would like is for us to make an effort to rise to His level and become more like Him.” James Dillet Freeman, Prayer the Master Key, 63.

“Faith is the strength by which a shattered world shall emerge into the light.” — Helen Keller.

“Lying lips are an abomination to the Lord, but those who act faithfully are his delight.” Proverbs 12:22.

We are ‘Free To Be in 23! ‘

This final month of the year we revisit our faith faculty, our inherent ability to affirm life, to affirm God’s good will for our life and the attitude of trust in the divine presence and power; to relax in the knowledge that God is in charge. We know God as Supreme Mind, Divine Harmony and Supreme Perfection, and our selves as divine expressions of this Infinite Presence and Power.

This year we are expressing what we are, free to be all that we are created to be, the Holy Perfect Expression of the Infinite, Unlimited, Eternal, Presence and Power that we call God!

Prayer and meditation are our means for raising our conscious awareness of the great work that Spirit is accomplishing in and through and as us. We begin by examining our thoughts, words and deeds to better understand our sense of being. This is the first step towards realizing our potential. We must become aware of and be willing to release all the self imposed limitations, false beliefs, error consciousness and self destructive behaviors as we are guided.

Now we continue to quiet the mind and heart as we quiet the body. “In the silence there is a sacred place… God is there.” And, this is where we learn to be.

We listen, we hear, we know, we are: One!

In this time of new possibility, we renew our commitment to our spiritual growth. We begin anew to purify our hearts and minds to be clear expressions of the divine. We prepare ourselves to be pure channels of the light and love of Spirit. We are Spirit Expressing Divine Love, here and now!

Thank you for accompanying us on this journey of self-realization and discovery of our Divine potential!

Please affirm with us: “I am realizing peace, wholeness and abundance in unity with the Divine Spirit of the Universe. God and I are one!”

Thank you God, thank you God, thank you God!

For so it is and so it shall be, Amen!

November 29, 2023 – OMNIPRESENCE!

“God’s omnipresence is your omnipresence; and that all that you need to do is improve your knowing.”
— Paramahansa Yogananda

“Whither shall I go from thy Spirit? Or whither shall I flee from thy presence? If I ascend to heaven, thou art there! If I make my bed in Sheol, thou art there!” Psalm 139:7-8.

“Here was evidence of omnipresence. Each individual must have his first awakening to the truth that God is everywhere and that, whatever may be the place, God is there as omnipresent Spirit-mind.” Charles Fillmore, Teach Us To Pray,143.

“The sage sees what is thought to be necessary as unnecessary, so there is no call for warfare. The ordinary person sees what is not necessary as necessary, with the result that there is frequent warfare.” The Book of Chuang Tzu, Martin Palmer, et. al., 290.

“It is all a matter of consciousness, and when we unfold our fourth-dimensional consciousness we shall see into Omnipresence, and there will be nothing hidden from us.” Myrtle Fillmore, How To Let God Help You, 118.

“Every time we eat a meal, gratitude is our practice. We are grateful for being together as a community… we express this by being fully aware of the food and living every moment deeply. This is how I try to express my gratitude to all of life.” Thich Nhat Hanh, Living Buddha, Living Christ, 26.

“Those of us who are trying to live the life of prayer engage in all the natural and normal activities that are a part of everyday living, and we do all things that for the time being are necessary… Then we dismiss these routine activities from our mind, so that the rest or our time can be spent in prayer.” Joel Goldsmith, The Altitude of Prayer, 67.

“God in His entirety is beyond our power to grasp or touch. But beholding him as a warm, bright, distant orb in the heavens, we reduce Him to something within our power to live by.” James Dillet Freeman, Prayer the Master Key, 63.

“The knowledge of the omnipresence of God also means respect for the lives even of those who may be called opponents.” — Mahatma Gandhi.

“Repent (think again) therefore, and turn again, that your sins (mistakes) may be blotted out, that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord…” Acts 3:19.

November 22, 2023 – UNIVERSAL MIND!

“We know what we are, but know not what we may be.” – William Shakespeare

“To set the mind on the flesh is death, but to set the mind on the Spirit is life and peace.” Romans 8:6.

“We have no independent mind — there is only universal Mind — but we have consciousness in that Mind, and we have control over that consciousness. We have control over our own thoughts, and our thoughts fill our consciousness.” Charles Fillmore, Teach Us To Pray 136.

“To know the Tao is easy, not to speak about it is hard. Knowing and not saying, this is to aspire to the Heavenly. Knowing and saying, this is to be subject to the human element.” The Book of Chuang Tzu, Martin Palmer, et. al., 290.

“THE SAME CHRIST SPIRIT that was in Jesus is implanted in all children of God. As you find the Christ in yourself, you realize that you are one with Jesus Christ in God-Mind. Your soul has taken deep root in the universal Mind, and you are growing and unfolding, drawing upon the Invisible and making God manifest.” Myrtle Fillmore, How To Let God Help You, 73.

“When mindfulness is in you, the Holy Spirit is in you, and your friends will see it, not just by what you say, but through your whole being.” Thich Nhat Hanh, Living Buddha, Living Christ, 24.

“Through these short meditations, you have the assurance in the midst of your normal day’s living that you are continuing in and under God’s grace.” Joel Goldsmith, The Altitude of Prayer, 66.

“Infinity is not easy for a finite mind to lay hold of. Someone has said that it is like trying to take the temperature of the sun with an ordinary thermometer.” James Dillet Freeman, Prayer the Master Key, 62.

“We shall probably get nearest to the truth if we think of the conscious and personal psyche as resting upon the broad basis of an inherited and universal psychic disposition which is as such unconscious, and that our personal psyche bears the same relation to the collective psyche as the individual to society.” – Carl Jung.

“When I look at thy heavens, the work of thy fingers, the moon and the stars which thou hast established; what is man that thou art mindful of him, and the son of man that thou dost care for him? Yet thou hast made him little less than God, and dost crown him with glory and honor.” Psalm 8:3-5.

November 15, 2023 – INNER MEANING!

“Man – a being in search of meaning.” – Plato

“I have seen all the things that are done under the sun; all of them are meaningless, a chasing after the wind.” Ecclesiastes 1:14.

“The producing power of a word depends upon the ability of its user to uncover its inner meaning and apply it to his particular needs.” Charles Fillmore, Teach Us To Pray 135.

“When Creation blesses someone, it blesses not that which is human in the person, but that which is from Heaven.” The Book of Chuang Tzu, Martin Palmer, et. al., 289.

“THERE Is often a profound philosophy concealed in the root meaning of words. Words are the outward expression of spiritual ideas, and their roots are as the petrified remains of an early spiritual science.” Myrtle Fillmore, How To Let God Help You, 134.

“Peace is all around us — in the world and in nature — and within us — in our bodies and spirits. Once we learn to touch this peace, we will be healed and transformed.” Thich Nhat Hanh, Living Buddha, Living Christ, 23-4.

“We are all like the boy starting to slide off the roof and calling out, ‘God! God, help me!’ and a moment later adding, ‘It’s alright, God. I don’t need help. I caught on a nail.” James Dillet Freeman, Prayer the Master Key, 62.

“I have always believed, and I still believe, that whatever good or bad fortune may come our way we can always give it meaning and transform it into something of value.” – Hermann Hesse.

“The disciples did not understand any of this. Its meaning was hidden from them, and they did not know what he was talking about.” Luke 18:34.

November 8, 2023 – SILENT RECOGNITION!

“Silence is one of the great arts of conversation.” – Marcus Tullius Cicero

“For God alone my soul waits in silence, for my hope is from him. He only is my rock and my salvation, my fortress; I shall not be shaken.” Psalm 62:5-6.

“Before any act that involves direct appeal to God there should be a silent recognition of God’s presence, of Jehovah-shammah, ‘The Lord is present,’… Jehovah is the name of the supermind in man and is called the Christ in the New Testament.” Charles Fillmore, Teach Us To Pray 134.

“Even if you try to hide the inner true nature of someone, the body gives it away like a traitor and shines out… It is the way your extraordinary attributes shine forth which attracts people to you and makes them happy.” The Book of Chuang Tzu, Martin Palmer, et. al. 288, 289.

“When you come into a spiritual realization, as you do in the silence, expect it to go down into the depths of your body consciousness and do its powerful and perfect work. None of us has learned to abide in the Christ consciousness continuously, but the times we do rise into it keep us growing and overcoming and establishing more and more of its Truth in our lives.” Myrtle Fillmore, How To Let God Help You, 84-5.

“Our true home is in the present moment. The miracle is not to walk on water. The miracle is to walk on the green earth in the present moment.” Thich Nhat Hanh, Living Buddha, Living Christ, 23.

“If you are to make the transition from being a person whose life is not God-governed to one whose life is God-governed, there is a price to be paid… It means consciously remembering the Presence from morning to night.” Joel Goldsmith, The Altitude of Prayer, 63.

“I said to the Master, ‘Sometimes prayer is like a call, ‘God are you there?’ ‘ The Master said, ‘And sometimes I wonder if God does not send out an answering call, ‘Man, are you there?”” James Dillet Freeman, Prayer the Master Key, 61.

“The study of the spiritual side of life awakens in mind, and even in body, emotions that convince one of the reality and eternal continuity of life, regardless of the changes that take place in outer manifestation.” Charles Fillmore, Teach Us To Pray 132.

“So it is that where the Tao is, the sage will honour it.” The Book of Chuang Tzu, Martin Palmer, et. al. 286.

“You must bring God into your experience by a conscious act of your consciousness.” Joel Goldsmith, The Altitude of Prayer, 63.

“There is a great law that corrects excesses. And this it does not by forbidding them but by constructing things in such a manner that when we go far enough in any direction we come out in the opposite direction… For truths are always circles and turn back on themselves.” James Dillet Freeman, Prayer the Master Key, 59.

“When one door of happiness closes, another opens; But often we look so long at the closed door that we do not see the one that has been opened for us.” – Helen Keller

“He who is slow to anger is better than the mighty, and he who rules his spirit than he who takes a city.” Proverbs 16:32

We are ‘Free To Be in 23! ‘

“Furthermore, the Tao is that by which all forms of life have life.” The Book of Chuang Tzu, Martin Palmer, et. al. 286.

“Thoughts are back of all conversation, so you see that you must co-operate with your Maker by training yourself to think life-giving, health-producing thoughts. Every day during your periods of communion with the Father in the silence, pray for wisdom and guidance. Make yourself open and receptive to the leading of the Spirit. It will be revealed to you just what steps to take in doing your part to establish divine order.” Myrtle Fillmore, How To Let God Help You, 74.

“I do not mean that I really believe God to be a person. If he is, I have to revise my notion of what a person is. For it almost seems a kind of blasphemy to think of the Ultimate Reality as something like myself, though it is easy to think of myself as being like the Ultimate Reality.” James Dillet Freeman, Prayer the Master Key, 58.

We are ‘Free To Be in 23! ‘

For September, we are ‘Casting Out Fear’, developing our ‘Spiritual Hearing’ and experiencing the ‘Light of Life’. We are open and receptive to being all we are created to be: realizing peace, wholeness and abundance in unity!

Please affirm with us: “The Light of Life flows in and through and as me: I am strengthened, healed and awakened to the joy of living!”

Thank you God, thank you God, thank you God!

For so it is and so it shall be, Amen!
