Summer 2024

September 11, 2024 – SPIRIT QUICKENED HEART!

“For it is in giving that we receive.” — Francis of Assisi

“You shall give to him freely, and your heart shall not be grudging when you give to him; because for this the Lord your God will bless you in all your work and in all that you undertake.” Deuteronomy 15:10.

“True giving is the love and generosity of the Spirit quickened heart responding to the love and generosity of the Father’s heart.” Prosperity, Charles Fillmore, 133.

“I belong to the beloved, have seen the two worlds as one and that one call to and know, first, last, outer, inner, only that breath breathing human being.” The Essential Rumi, Coleman Barks, et. al., 32.

“Praise and thanksgiving have within them the quickening spiritual power that produces growth and increase.” Myrtle Fillmore, How To Let God Help You, 155.

“When we live in Sangha (community), we regard each other as brothers and sisters, and we practice the Six Concords (agreements) — Sharing space, sharing the essentials of daily life, observing the same precepts, using only words that contribute to harmony, sharing our insights and understanding, and respecting each other’s viewpoints. A community that follows these principles always lives happily and at peace.” Thich Nhat Hanh, Living Buddha, Living Christ, 65.

“Prayer is the ability to enter the silence without a problem, just for the joy of communion with God, for the experience of coming to know God aright.” Joel Goldsmith, The Altitude of Prayer, 88.

“High achievement comes only out of intense effort. But intense effort comes only out of a still, poised, relaxed attitude… I need to feel that my work is no less a prayer than my silent sitting.” James Dillet Freeman, Prayer the Master Key, 91.

“Love cures people – both the ones who give it and the ones who receive it.” — Karl A. Menninger.

“He destined us in love to be his sons through Jesus Christ, according to the purpose of his will, to the praise of his glorious grace which he freely bestowed on us in the Beloved.” Ephesians 1:5-6.

September 4, 2024 – DIVINE LAW!

“Giving is true having.” —  Charles Spurgeon

“…give, and it will be given to you; good measure, pressed down, shaken together, running over, will be put into your lap. For the measure you give will be the measure you get back.” Luke 6:38.

“Promises of spiritual benefits and increase of God’s bounty through the keeping of this divine law of giving and receiving, abound in all the Scriptures… All ages and all religious dispensations have stressed giving as a vital part of their worship.” Prosperity, Charles Fillmore, 132,136.

“Hearing someone is lifting the lid off the cooking pot, you learn what’s for supper. Though some people can know just by the smell, a sweet stew from a sour soup cooked with vinegar. A man taps a clay pot before he buys it to know by the sound if it has a crack.” The Essential Rumi, Coleman Barks, et. al., 31.

“Work, of whatever nature, is to render living service, in obedience to the law of giving and receiving. For you, it is for the purpose of expressing your God-given faculties and powers, to the end that you may manifest the divine ideas God has implanted, the perfect pattern of His Son.” Myrtle Fillmore, How To Let God Help You, 161.

“Without mindfulness, we cannot bear the fruit of love, understanding, and liberation. We must bring forth the Buddha in ourselves.” Thich Nhat Hanh, Living Buddha, Living Christ, 65.

“Abide in that stillness, quietness, and peace until the Spirit of God descends and inwardly you feel a release from the problem, a release from fear and anxiety. Then, in its season, God’s grace takes the form of a healing, of an uplifting, of supplying, of a happier human relationship, something very tangible.” Joel Goldsmith, The Altitude of Prayer, 88.

“But prayer is like a sluice gate. When the storm comes and the waters begin to rise, we open the gate of prayer and the water flows gently, steadily where we want it to go — into paths of constructive thinking — thinking about God, about life, about love, about power; into looking and listening for inspiration and instruction; into finding faith and joy; into positive thinking instead of negative resisting.” James Dillet Freeman, Prayer the  Master Key, 90-91.

“The essence of all art is to have pleasure in giving pleasure.” — Dale Carnegie.

“One man gives freely, yet grows all the richer; another withholds what he should give, and only suffers want.” Proverbs 11:24.

THE OPEN DOOR IN ‘24

Our theme for 2024 is: “The Open Door.” It is time to focus on what is true, what is helpful, intuitive, necessary and kind (think). “After this I looked, and lo, in heaven an open door!” (Revelation 4:1)

It is often said that, “When one door closes another door opens.” There is always an open door, yet we tend to focus on the closed door. Banging our head against it, weeping cabout it, complaining to our friends and those who will listen, will not open the closed door. And, when we raise our vision in a heaven state of consciousness and see the door that is open to us; we see beyond the appearances of lack and limitation to know the truth of the abundant universe that provides for our every needed good.

Our weekly Prayer Circle letters this year will follow the book ‘Prosperity’ by Unity co-founder, Charles Fillmore. “Realize first of all that prosperity is not wholly a matter of capital or environment but a condition brought about by certain ideas that have been allowed to rule in the consciousness. When these ideas are changed the conditions are changed in spite of environment and all appearances, which must also change to conform to the new ideas.”(pg. 80.) Prosperity is not about stuff and things, material objects or bank accounts. It is the consciousness that draws to us all that we need and desire. Its realization requires first a change of mind about our relationship with the universe and its creator (to repent is to ‘think again’) and then to act in accord with this new understanding.

For September we are sharing from Lesson Nine: Tithing, the Road to Prosperity.

Thank you for accompanying us on this journey of self-realization and discovery of our Divine potential!

Please affirm with us: God is my Divine Source and Supply; I give knowing that I have received!”

Thank you God, thank you God, thank you God!

For so it is and so it shall be, Amen!

August 28, 2024 – DIVINE ABUNDANCE!

“Not what we have but what we enjoy, constitutes our abundance.” — Epicurus

“I came that they may have life, and have it abundantly.” John 10:10.

“Above all we should fill our mind with the consciousness of that divine abundance which is so manifest everywhere in the world today.” Prosperity, Charles Fillmore, 127.

“Every spoken word is a covering for the inner self. A little curtain-flick no wider that a slice of roast meat can reveal hundreds of exploding suns.” The Essential Rumi, Coleman Barks, et. al., 30.

“Pray for understanding. Claim your oneness with God. Study your relationship with Him so that you may know how to lay hold of the abundant life, intelligence, substance, and love, so that you can build these into your soul and your body, to perfect your expression.” Myrtle Fillmore, How To Let God Help You, 17.

“In Buddhism, a Sangha is a group of monks, nuns, laymen and laywomen who practice together to encourage the best qualities in each other… An imperfect Sangha is good enough. We can help build and improve the Sangha by practicing mindfully, step by step, encouraging each other.” Thich Nhat Hanh, Living Buddha, Living Christ, 63-64.

“What do you need to pray for? Nothing! What do you believe God is withholding from you? Nothing! Then why are you closing your eyes in prayer? Why, except that you may receive the grace of God, that His Spirit may be upon you, that you may be healed physically, mentally, morally, financially, whatever the need may be.” Joel Goldsmith, The Altitude of Prayer, 87.

“Prayer is a profitable use of your energy. All of us are most inclined to pray when we do not know what else to do. We are much like the frightened lady in the storm battered ship. When she asked the Captain what she could do and he told her, ‘Madam, you can pray,’ she cried out: ‘Good heavens, Captain, is it as bad as that?’” James Dillet Freeman, Prayer the Master Key, 90.

“The key to abundance is meeting limited circumstances with unlimited thoughts.” — Marianne Williamson.

August 21, 2024 – THE KINGDOM OF TRUTH!

“Truth is ever to be found in simplicity ” — Isaac Newton

“If you continue in my word, you are truly my disciples, and you will know the truth, and the truth will make you free.” John 8:31-32.

“In the kingdom of Truth and reality ideas are the coin of the realm. You can use the new ideas that divine wisdom is now quickening in your mind and start this very moment to pay your debts. Begin by thanking God for your freedom from the debt burden thought.” Prosperity, Charles Fillmore, 124.

“A lover’s food is the love of the bread, not the bread.” The Essential Rumi, Coleman Barks, et. al., 29.

“When we use the word Truth, we mean that which is true of God, and true of God’s children. This spiritual Truth is that you are God’s own beloved child and that God is ever giving you His own wisdom, love, power, life, and substance.” Myrtle Fillmore, How To Let God Help You, 5-6.

“When monks offer retreats, they initiate people into the practice of mindfulness, of touching the best things within themselves and touching the ultimate dimension.” Thich Nhat Hanh, Living Buddha, Living Christ, 62.

“Regardless of the nature of your prayer or treatment, it must be only for the purpose of reaching a place in consciousness where the words and thoughts stop and the Spirit Itself takes over.” Joel Goldsmith, The Altitude of Prayer, 86.

“You pray when you refuse to give up, when you keep on, when you go forward. When circumstance stops you from doing this physically, you pray when you keep on going forward in mind and spirit.” James Dillet Freeman, Prayer the Master Key, 90.

“My religion is based on truth and non-violence. Truth is my God. Non-violence is the means of realising Him.” — Mahatma Gandhi.

“Little children, let us not love in word or speech but in deed and in truth. By this we shall know that we are of the truth, and reassure our hearts before him whenever our hearts condemn us;” 1 John 3:18-20.

August 14, 2024 – THE SUBSTANCE OF IDEAS!

“The clash of ideas is the sound of freedom.” —  Lady Bird Johnson

“Repent (think again), for the kingdom of heaven is at hand (within your reach).” Matthew 3:2.

“We should fill our mind with thoughts of all-sufficiency, and where there is no lack there can be no debts. Thus we find that the way to pay our debts is by filling our mind with the substance of ideas that are the direct opposite of the thoughts of lack that caused the debts.” Prosperity, Charles Fillmore, 121.

“Finally I know the freedom of madness. A random image arrives. I scream, ‘Get out!’ It disintegrates. Only love. Only the holder the flag fits into, and wind. No flag.” The Essential Rumi, Coleman Barks, et. al., 29.

“Philosophy teaches that all that was ever known exists in the world of ideas. When we are able to rise into this realm, we shall know all things.” Myrtle Fillmore, How To Let God Help You, 39.

“When someone from the city arrives in a monastery compound, just seeing the trees and gardens and hearing the sounds of the bell can calm him down… Through their true practice and genuine insight, those who live in monasteries, temples, and practice centers offer us a way to obtain peace, joy, and freedom.” Thich Nhat Hanh, Living Buddha, Living Christ, 62.

“Only the prayer or treatment that transcends words and thoughts and attains an actual contact with the Spirit brings fruitage.” Joel Goldsmith, The Altitude of Prayer, 86.

“You pray when you turn your thought to life. You pray when you love. You pray when you express beauty and truth. You pray when you hold to hope or stand firm in faith. You pray when you have patience and fortitude. You pray when you expect good. You pray when you stay stronger than circumstance and reach beyond limitations with your mind and with your spirit.” James Dillet Freeman, Prayer the  Master Key, 89-90.

“If you are an American, you must allow all ideas to circulate freely in your community, not merely your own.” — Kurt Vonnegut.

“Honor the Lord with your substance and with the first fruits of all your produce;” Proverbs 3:9.

August 7, 2024 – SPIRIT SUBSTANCE!

“Man in his true nature is substance, soul, spirit.” — Swami Vivekananda.

“Thy eyes beheld my unformed substance; in thy book were written, every one of them, the days that were formed for me, when as yet there was none of them.” Psalm 139:16.

“The true disciple realizes his supply in the consciousness of omnipresent universally possessed abundance. Spirit substance is impartial and owned in common, and no thought of debt can enter into it.” Prosperity, Charles Fillmore, 120.

“Who are we then in this complicated world tangle, which is really just the single, straight line down at the beginning of ALLAH? Nothing. We are emptiness.” The Essential Rumi, Coleman Barks, et. al., 28.

“The Spirit of Truth reveals to you abundant Spirit Substance as the Source of your prosperity. Affirm this to be true for you. Stop holding on to the old ideas.
Your prosperity comes through you instead of to you.” Myrtle Fillmore, How To Let God Help You, 164.

“Is there a way to work in a meditative mood? The answer is clearly yes. We practice mindfulness of cooking, cleaning, sweeping, and washing, When we work this way, we touch the ultimate dimension of reality.” Thich Nhat Hanh, Living Buddha, Living Christ, 61.

“For most persons, it is a simple thing to acknowledge that there is an indwelling Christ… It was the Master’s awareness and conviction of that Presence that did the miracle works of which you read.” Joel Goldsmith, The Altitude of Prayer, 85-86.

“Prayer is keeping faith. Prayer is meeting things that are hard to meet with a confident, hopeful attitude. We may use fixed forms and words to help us keep this attitude. We may just keep the attitude. Both the words and attitude are prayer.” James Dillet Freeman, Prayer the  Master Key, 89.

“There is neither spirit nor matter in the world. The stuff of the universe is spirit-matter. No other substance but this could have produced the human molecule.” — Pierre Teilhard de Chardin.

“These are only a shadow of what is to come; but the substance belongs to Christ.” Colossians 2:17.

“Go to Heaven for the climate, Hell for the company.” — Mark Twain.

“Bring the full tithe into the storehouse. See if I will not open the windows of heaven for you and pour down for you an overflowing blessing.” Malachi 3:10.

“’Heaven’ represents the mind. All this (Malachi 3:10) is done in the mind, and you can do it. Carry each step forward in your imagination exactly as if it were occurring in the without. Form your prosperity demonstration in your mind, then hold to the divine law of fulfillment.” Prosperity, Charles Fillmore, 114.

“Ignorance is God’s prison. Knowing is God’s palace. We sleep in God’s unconsciousness. We wake in God’s open hand.” The Essential Rumi, Coleman Barks, et. al., 27.

“The kingdom of heaven is within, and it is only through bringing its unfailing law of love to act upon every situation that we shall establish its peace in our surroundings.” Myrtle Fillmore, How To Let God Help You, 173.

“When you make conscious contact with the Spirit of God that is within you, you bring into your experience the divine Power and Presence… you open out a way for the Spirit to announce Itself and perform Its function.” Joel Goldsmith, The Altitude of Prayer, 85.

“There is a sense where all of us are in a prison. The prison is ourself, the dungeon is our loneliness. I do not know the way out. But I know there is a way. What are you doing to extricate yourself from your own pettiness? And when you have become more, what are you going to make of your greatness?” James Dillet Freeman, Prayer the  Master Key, 88.

“Heaven and God are not high above us, far away; they are deep within us. Heaven is not a distant country where there are trees and houses and other objects; it is a plane of consciousness within us. Seekers of the eternal Truth will realise their eternal Heaven within their aspiring hearts.” —  Sri Chinmoy.

“Listen! I am standing at the door, knocking; if you hear my voice and open the door, I will come in to you and eat with you, and you with me.” Revelation 3:20.

July 24, 2024 – GOD’S WILL!

“Where the willingness is great, the difficulties cannot be great” — Niccolo Machiavelli.

“God’s will is health, happiness, and prosperity for every man; and to have all that is good and beautiful in the home is to express God’s will for us.” Prosperity, Charles Fillmore, 111.

“Plant the seed of truth in your consciousness and begin daily to nourish it with brief periods of practicing the Presence which means a conscious remembrance of living in God and of life by Grace. Stop fighting life; stop chasing after God; and God will come right up to you.” Joel Goldsmith, The Altitude of Prayer, 83-4.

“You have learned to think what is good; you have learned to expect what is good; you have learned to call forth what is good.” James Dillet Freeman, Prayer the  Master Key, 87.

“The willingness and ability to live fully in the now eludes many people. While eating your appetizer, don’t be concerned with dessert. ” — Wayne Dyer.

“Anyone who resolves to do the will of God will know whether the teaching is from God or whether I am speaking on my own. Those who speak on their own seek their own glory; but the one who seeks the glory of him who sent him is true, and there is nothing false in him.” John 7:17-18.

“We do act, and yet everything we do is God’s creative action. We look back and analyze the events of our lives, but there is another way of seeing, a backward-and-forward-at-once vision, that is not rationally understandable. Only God can understand it.” The Essential Rumi, Coleman Barks, et. al., 26-27.

“Blessing has not lost its power since the time when Jesus Christ used it. Try it and prove its efficacy. The same power of multiplication is within it. “We cannot really lose anything that Spirit has expressed in us. We simply let it sink into our human consciousness to do its good work, just as we plant seeds in the ground and apparently lose them in order that they may grow and bring forth many, many other seeds, and the beauty and fragrance of the budding and blossoming which come before the ripe fruit.” Myrtle Fillmore, How To Let God Help You, 85.

July 3, 2024 – LAW OF LOVE!

“It is the law of love that we have whatsoever we desire. As a father gives his children gifts so the Lord gives to us, because of love. When we desire aright, we put our thoughts into the supermind realm; we contact God-Mind and from it draw the invisible substance that is manifest in temporal things.” Prosperity, Charles Fillmore, 102.

“Now is the time to begin the work of bringing harmony out of discord… The kingdom of heaven is within, and it is only through bringing its unfailing law of love to act upon every situation that we shall establish its peace in our surroundings.” Myrtle Fillmore, How To Let God Help You, 172-3.

“The living Christ is the Christ of Love who is always generating love, moment after moment. When the church manifests understanding, tolerance, and loving-kindness, Jesus is there.” Thich Nhat Hanh, Living Buddha, Living Christ, 57.

God is the invisible presence of Intelligence and Love, and this infinite invisible presence of Wisdom and Love is within me and without me. I am in It, and It is in me. Where I am, It is; where It is, I am, for we are inseparable, indivisible, one.” Joel Goldsmith, The Altitude of Prayer, 83.

“The use you put your energy to — this determines whether your life is happy or unhappy. One of the great purposes of prayer is to help us to put our energies to constructive uses.” James Dillet Freeman, Prayer the  Master Key, 86.

“The significance of the law of love is precisely that it is not just another law, but a law which transcends all law.” — Reinhold Niebuhr.

“Take good care to observe the commandment and the law which Moses the servant of the Lord commanded you, to love the Lord your God, and to walk in all his ways, and to keep his commandments, and to cleave to him, and to serve him with all your heart and with all your soul.” Joshua 22:5.
