August 2, 2025 – THE INSPIRED WITHIN!
“One can be instructed in society, one is inspired only in solitude.” ― Johann Wolfgang von Goethe.
“Now there are varieties of gifts, but the same Spirit; and there are varieties of service, but the same Lord; and there are varieties of working, but it is the same God who inspires them all in every one.” 1 Corinthians 12: 4-6.
“God is our Father-Mother, the one inspiration of all that we do, of all that we are. Why for a moment ignore this one All-Power? Why look to the insipid without when the inspired within forever sparkles with the vintage of eternal youth, health, wisdom, life?” Talks on Truth, Charles Fillmore, 99.
“Stay with friends who support you in these (disciplines). Talk with them about sacred texts, and how you’re doing, and how they’re doing, and keep your practices together.” The Essential Rumi, Coleman Barks, et. al., 69.
“Use words of Truth during your silence periods. As you change your thinking and bring it into line with Truth principles, a transformation will take place in your consciousness. Your mind will become keen, awake, alert, illumined, and your body temple will be filled with new life. You will be inspired with new and practical ideas that will enable you to succeed in a larger way.” Myrtle Fillmore, How To Let God Help You, 18.
“The insight will come after sometime of practice. You will see the truth about yourself and the truth about the person who you thought to be the cause of your suffering. This insight will release you from your anger and transform the roots of anger in you. The transformation in you will also help transform the other person.” Thich Nhat Hanh, Living Buddha, Living Christ, 103-4.
“It is not the manner of prayer, however, that is a determining influence in life. It is the motive… The God that answers prayer is Spirit, and It answers prayer according to the spirit of those who are praying.” Joel Goldsmith, The Altitude of Prayer, 110-111.
“I have laid hold of the Holy Spirit, I have been converted, I have found God — when I have found a right sense of values. This does not mean I have reached the goal. But it does mean I know where I want to go. I have not arrived, but I am set out on the journey; I am no longer an aimless wanderer.” James Dillet Freeman, Prayer the Master Key, 111.
“Your battles inspired me – not the obvious material battles but those that were fought and won behind your forehead.” ― James Joyce.
“Better is a little with righteousness than great revenues with injustice. A man’s mind plans his way, but the Lord directs his steps. Inspired decisions are on the lips of a king;
his mouth does not sin in judgment.” Proverbs 16:8-10.
August 20, 2025 – CULTIVATE SPIRIT!
“Just as a candle cannot burn without fire, men cannot live without a spiritual life.” ― Buddha.
“I commune with my heart in the night; I meditate and search my spirit:” Psalm 77:6.
“God is Spirit. Spirit is Mind, and Mind knows. It is not an abstraction that dwells in a vacuum to be invoked by some magic formula, but it must be cultivated and communed with as a child communes with his parents.” Talks on Truth, Charles Fillmore, 98.
“Listen to the prophets. The foundation and the walls of the spiritual life are made of self-denials and disciplines.” The Essential Rumi, Coleman Barks, et. al., 69.
“At times the soul will reveal to us conditions that are wholly at variance with the reports of the senses and intellect, yet more real and substantial than any of these. Hence, if you would know the perfect relation of all things in the universe, cultivate the soul. It is Intelligence Itself and will reveal to you, in the silence of meditation, glories and beauties of which you have not dreamed.” Myrtle Fillmore, How To Let God Help You, 85-6.
“Mindfulness helps you be concentrated and look deeply. This is true meditation. The insight will come after sometime of practice.” Thich Nhat Hanh, Living Buddha, Living Christ, 103.
“As we advance still further in spiritual awareness, we began to pray for our community, nation, and world. Those who have been the longest on the path are giving some part of every day to prayer on world conditions.” Joel Goldsmith, The Altitude of Prayer, 110.
“I want my God to be the wonderfully strange and strangely wonderful. I want Him to be extraordinary experiences — and because He is infinite He will be.” James Dillet Freeman, Prayer the Master Key, 111.
“We stumble and fall constantly even when we are most enlightened. But when we are in true spiritual darkness, we do not even know that we have fallen.” ― Thomas Merton.
“For the kingdom of God is not food and drink but righteousness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit;” Romans 14:17.
August 13, 2025 – THE EYE OF SPIRIT!
“The eye altering, alters all.” ― William Blake.
“Then turning to the disciples he said privately, ‘Blessed are the eyes which see what you see! For I tell you that many prophets and kings desired to see what you see, and did not see it, and to hear what you hear, and did not hear it.’” Luke 10:23-24.
“Some of the most miraculous cures ever made have been where the healer simply saw perfection in the patient. He saw with the eye of Spirit that which really exists, and the shadow conformed to his seeing just to the extent of his realization of that spiritual reality.” Talks on Truth, Charles Fillmore, 93.
“When the body empties and stays empty, God fills it with musk and mother-of-pearl. That way a man gives his dung and gets purity.” The Essential Rumi, Coleman Barks, et. al., 69.
“When you look with your all-seeing, all-discerning eye of faith, you see God’s abundance manifesting to meet every need of yours. So practice seeing with this inner eye that beholds the eternal verities of Being. The more you exercise this eye, the better you see with it.” Myrtle Fillmore, How To Let God Help You, 148.
“…the Buddha taught ‘Breathing in, I recognize my feeling. Breathing out I calm my feeling.’ If you practice this, not only will your feeling be calmed down but the energy of mindfulness will also help you see into the nature and roots of your anger.” Thich Nhat Hanh, Living Buddha, Living Christ, 103.
“There is no religion in God. God’s relationship is not with edifices or man-made institutions. God’s relationship is Himself appearing as man in indissoluble relationship.” Joel Goldsmith, The Altitude of Prayer, 110.
“Life reveals its truths to us dramatically, with all its trumpets blowing, but most of the time it just whispers them in our mind one syllable at a time. It is like the way spring comes back after winter. Suddenly one day we look and it is green. But the green came back one cell at a time at the growing tip of the world. That is the way growth comes. We grow so slowly we cannot see that we are growing — we can only see that we have grown.” James Dillet Freeman, Prayer the Master Key, 110.
“The eye with which I see God is the same eye with which God sees me.” ― Meister Eckhart.
“The eyes of the Lord are toward the righteous, and his ears toward their cry.” Psalm 34:15.
August 6, 2025 – SPHERE OF INTELLIGENCE!
“The mind
is not a vessel to be filled but a fire to be kindled.” ― Plutarch
“An intelligent mind acquires knowledge, and the ear of the wise seeks knowledge.” Proverbs 18:15.
“Man is the builder, and to him are given all the materials out of which to construct the temple in which he dwells. He builds in wisdom or in ignorance, according to his obedience — his receptivity to the sphere of intelligence within him,” Talks on Truth, Charles Fillmore, 90.
“Let body needs dwindle and soul decisions increase. Diminish what you give your physical self. Your spiritual eye will begin to open.” The Essential Rumi, Coleman Barks, et. al., 69.
“As we become aware of the truth that we are God’s children and that God is the very intelligence within us, we discover that health also is our inheritance from the Father. We learn, too, that there is divine law in life, with established rules that make for health, happiness, and prosperity if we live by them.” Myrtle Fillmore, How To Let God Help You, 5.
“Training ourselves in the art of mindful breathing is crucial for knowing how to take care of our emotions. First, we recognize the presence of, for example, anger in us, and we allow it to be. We do not try to suppress it or express it. We just bring the energy of mindfulness to our anger and allow our mindfulness to take care of it the way a mother holds her baby when it begins to cry.” Thich Nhat Hanh, Living Buddha, Living Christ, 103.
“Those of us who in any degree find a lack or limitation of God’s goodness find it only because we ourselves set up the barrier. We are holding some people in condemnation, some races or some creeds, as if there were any race or creed in God.” Joel Goldsmith, The Altitude of Prayer, 108-9.
“We may pay no attention, His is such a still small voice — but we hear. We may not move in the direction He points out to us, for His light is just a thought in our own mind — but we know the way is there.” James Dillet Freeman, Prayer the Master Key, 110.
“Thinking is the hardest work there is, which is probably the reason why so few engage in it.” ― Henry Ford.
“And if I have prophetic powers, and understand all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have all faith, so as to remove mountains, but have not love, I am nothing.” 1 Corinthians 13:2.
THRIVE IN ’25!
For 2025 our theme is: “Thrive!” According to Webster; to thrive is “1: to grow vigorously : flourish 2: to gain in wealth or possessions : prosper 3: to progress toward or realize a goal despite or because of circumstances —often used with on, “thrives on conflict.”
As the wholly perfect sinless child of God (Christ) that we are, we are meant not merely to survive, but to thrive. The only things holding us back are our own limiting thoughts and feelings of inadequacy and separation. To which, the Apostle Paul said, “I die every day!” 1 Corinthians 15:31. Each day we have the opportunity to release what was for what can be; we open the door to a new level of understanding and expression of the divine potential within. We are reborn as we are renewed in mind. “Do not be conformed to this world but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that you may prove what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.” Romans 12:2.
Our weekly Prayer Circle letters this year will follow the book ‘Talks on Truth’ by Unity co-founder, Charles Fillmore. “Mind is the only causative power. By the power of the Word, it makes and unmakes all laws governing in personal life. The I AM floats in mind and formulates the words that set mind in motion.” (pg. 82.) When we change our minds, we change our lives. When our consciousness opens up to new awarenesses of being we are ‘born anew’: we begin again to realize peace, wholeness and abundance through greater and more fulfilling channels of expression.
For August we are sharing from Lesson 8: Obedience.
Thank you for accompanying us on this journey of self-realization and discovery of our Divine potential!
Please affirm with us: “God Is: I Am; We are: ONE!”
Thank you God, thank you God, thank you God!
For so it is and so it shall be, Amen!

“Your being is in heaven — the spiritual consciousness… God is here now in our very midst… The Father loves us with His infinite love. We are His in Truth and must be His in consciousness.” Talks on Truth, Charles Fillmore, 88.
“Many actions which seem cruel are from a deep friendship. Many demolitions are actually renovations.” The Essential Rumi, Coleman Barks, et. al., 68.
“We are learning about the things that were mysterious. We are knowing ourselves better and better; we are finding that there is something in us that understands better than the intellectual self. We are beginning to find a new heaven and a new earth. The things that we have thought to be beyond our ken are gradually coming into our knowledge. We are gradually coming to know that we are one with Him who knows all, one with the one perfect life. We are finding that the Spirit within us is greater than all else.” Myrtle Fillmore, How To Let God Help You, 60.
“We have to dissolve all prejudices, barriers, and walls and empty ourselves in order to listen and look deeply before we utter even one word. When we are mindful of our words, it helps us, our families, and our society.” Thich Nhat Hanh, Living Buddha, Living Christ, 101.
“Even though we may be living in a sense of greater security and peace than the world at large, nevertheless, we do owe a debt to the world… when we go through some of the troubles of the world and bring to them our spiritual realization, we are contributing something to the overcoming of those troubles.” Joel Goldsmith, The Altitude of Prayer, 108.
“The Spirit of God is not a once-in-a-lifetime something that appears to us as a peculiar emotional-mystical experience, a kind of psychic seizure, and never appears to us again. If God is ever with us, He is with us always.” James Dillet Freeman, Prayer the Master Key, 110.
“The mind is its own place and in itself, can make a Heaven of Hell, a Hell of Heaven.” ― John Milton.

“Spiritual thinking is the pioneer that opens the way into the new birth… In the Sermon on the Mount, Jesus laid down the law for those who desire to follow Him into the regeneration — to be born again. If you seek this spiritual birth, examine your daily life and see whether you are conforming to its requirements.” Talks on Truth, Charles Fillmore, 86.
“A True Person is more calm and deliberate. He or she doesn’t worry about interruptions.” The Essential Rumi, Coleman Barks, et. al., 66.
“When once the ideal man is conceived in the mind as a possibility, and the requirements of the Law are complied with, the regeneration of mind and body is under way; then he who descended is no longer hampered by the thought of sinful flesh; he is glorified with the manifestation of divine substance in his body.” Myrtle Fillmore, How To Let God Help You, 146.
“On the altar of my hermitage in France, I have statues of Buddhas and bodhisattvas and also an image of Jesus Christ. I do not feel any conflict within me. Instead I feel stronger because I have more than one root.” Thich Nhat Hanh, Living Buddha, Living Christ, 100.
“We render unto Caesar the things that are Caesar’s. We pray for guidance as to whom to vote for… But we cannot expect that the world’s problems will be solved that way. The world’s problems will be solved spiritually.” Joel Goldsmith, The Altitude of Prayer, 108.
“All of us… walk an unknown way. We may walk as by night, stumblingly, from dark into dark. Or we may put our hand in love’s hand and go forward. We may look to the light that life holds for us, and walk on. When we do this, the way may bring us gratification or it may ask of us renunciation, but it is always a way of self-realization.” James Dillet Freeman, Prayer the Master Key, 109.
“Dolphins may well be carrying information as well as functions critical to the regeneration of life upon our planet.” ― R. Buckminster Fuller.
“You were wearied with the length of your way, but you did not say, “It is hopeless”; you found new life for your strength, and so you were not faint… he who takes refuge in me shall possess the land, and shall inherit my holy mountain.” Isaiah 57:10,14.
July 16, 2025 – A NEW AND DIFFERNT COUNTRY!
“The Divine Spirit does not reside in any except the joyful heart.” ― The Talmud

“But when we know what we are submitting to, when we say boldly and freely, ‘I choose to serve life and to give myself to life,’ then life does not thrust us headlong down blind alleys, but leads us along the highway of self-realization.” James Dillet Freeman, Prayer the Master Key, 109.
“Humility is not cowardice. Meekness is not weakness. Humility and meekness are indeed spiritual powers.” ― Swami Sivananda.

July 9, 2025 – BORN OF THE SPIRIT!
“He not busy being born is busy dying.” ―Bob Dylan
“Jesus answered him, “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born anew, he cannot see the kingdom of God… unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God. That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.” John 3:3,5-6
“It is evident that we have, at some time, chosen to be born into the flesh or we should not be in it. If we have had enough of the flesh, it is our privilege to drop it out of our mind and to be born of Spirit… The ‘flesh’ is a state of consciousness; the ‘Spirit’ is a state of consciousness.” Talks on Truth, Charles Fillmore, 73.
“Awe is the salve that will heal our eyes. And keen, constant listening. Stay out in the open like a dated palm lifting its arms. Don’t bore mouse holes in the ground, arguing inside some doctrinal labyrinth.” The Essential Rumi, Coleman Barks, et. al., 65-6.

“Those of us who are on the spiritual path have a bond with one another that makes our interest a common and united one. Our real life is lived in the withinness of our being, and we draw upon that withinness for supply, companionship, and outer relationships. Our interest is in bringing forth spiritual power, not only for ourselves or our families, but for the entire world.” Joel Goldsmith, The Altitude of Prayer, 107-8.
